Helsinki International Ballet Competition

The Helsinki International Ballet Competition Association was established in 2003 to promote and develop the knowledge and level of classical and modern dance in Finland, to support international relationships and to increase audience figures for dance performances. To achieve its aims the association organises regularly the Helsinki International Ballet Competition.

Members of the board 2009 are: president Doris Laine-Almi, vice president Jyri Pulkkinen, Jane Erkko, Riitta Seppälä, Liisa Härö, Arja Tervo, Kenneth Greve and Maija Hänninen; vice members Minna Tervamäki and Hannele Niiranen.

In the beginning of the year 2009, the association had several supporting members like the Association Pro Opera, the Union of Finnish Dance Artists, the Finnish Theatre Information Centre, Hospital Orton and the Ballet Teachers Association.
