Rules
1. The competition is open to dancers of all nationalities. All participants will be nominated by the Selection Committee. Qualifications will be based on recommendations from directors/ teachers of ballet/ dance companies or ITI centres.
2. The competitors will be judged individually and in two divisions:
- Junior division: age 15 to 18 at the beginning of the competition
- Senior division: age 19 to 25 at the beginning of the competition
3. The competition will be held in three qualifying rounds.
- I round: Juniors present two variations from the classical 19th century ballet repertoire and seniors can choose either pas de deux or two variations chosen from the list enclosed.
- II round: One contemporary ballet fragment showing new elements in contemporary style, lasting no less than 3 minutes and no more than 6 minutes.
- III round:
1. One pas de deux or two variations from the classical ballet repertoire from the 19th or 20th century, lasting no more than 10 minutes.
2. One contemporary ballet fragment created after 2000 lasting no more than 6 minutes.
4. The order of appearance on stage will be determined by drawing numbers, juniors will appear first each night. Competitors will always appear in their numerical order. In case of a duo, the number of the female competitor will be used.
5. By taking part in this competition competitors waive all performance rights in case of television broadcasting and understand that no royalties will be paid.
6. Competitors must ensure that they have the right to perform their contemporary works.
7. All competitors may appear in rounds II and III either as a soloist or with a partner. A competitor's partner may be from either age division, and does not have to be a qualified competitor. A competitor can have only one non-competing partner.
8. No ballet entry may be repeated in a subsequent round.
9. All competitors who become finalists must agree to appear in the awards performance and at the gala without being paid a fee. The jury will decide upon the programme.
10. Should a competitor who is a partner of another competitor be eliminated, he or she must agree to continue to appear as a partner in subsequent rounds, the awards performance and the gala.
11. All qualified competitors will be judged individually by an international jury. The jury will be chosen by the organising committee of the competition. Each jury member will have a vote. Members of the jury are not allowed to give votes for a competitor to whom he or she is related to or next of kin, or who works or studies at the same dance organisation or whom they have been preparing for the competition.
12. The contemporary ballets of round two and three will be judged by the jury for choreography awards.

Various scholarships and choreography prizes will be awarded. The decisions of the jury are final and cannot be changed. The jury is not bound to award all prizes.
